Pacific Rim, 2016

The Pacific Rim Championships is a major regional biennial gymnastics competition. It is open to teams from member nations of the Pacific Alliance of National Gymnastics Federations, including Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, USA and other nations on the Pacific coast.

The Championships are unique in that they offer an opportunity for junior and senior aged athletes to compete together in a team format.

The 2016 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships was held from April 8 to 10, 2016 at the Everett Community College (Everett, Washington). The three-day event featured athletes from more than 14 countries, including Australia, China, and the United States.

Based on her dominant performance at Elite Canada (Richmond, BC) this past February, Alexandra Chtrevenskii, a junior gymnast of club Questo, qualified to represent Canada in this prestigious event.

During the three-day competition, Alexandra contributed greatly to team Canada wining the silver medal in the team event. She also earned a silver medal at the individual all around competition. At the event finals, Alexandra added 3 more bronze medals to her collection. What a great result - 5 medals out of possible 6 to take home! Congratulations Sasha!

Congratulations to Alexandra’s coach Lidia Joukova for her tremendous work and expertise!
